Quality Replacement Windows and Doors
®
If you are thinking about replacing your existing windows, be sure to do your homework. There are many different manufactures of replacement
windows that offer a wide range of features and options.
The most important aspect in deciding what product is best for you is looking at the warranty. That is a good indication of how the product will stand up
against all the rest. Lets face it, the windows that were installed in most homes that were built before 2000 are not the best in quality. They are considered
"Builder Grade" windows and only have to be warranted for a short period of time. You can still buy "Builder Grade" windows, but do not expect them to hold
up any longer than what you currently have in your home. They just are not made for that purpose.
The next important aspect is efficiency. How will the new windows react to the desert climate? Replacing your windows is one of the most important
improvements you can perform on your home to lower your energy bill. Every window that is sold should have a energy star certification sticker (so long as it
is rated a such), if it doesn't, do not buy it. It may look pretty and appear well constructed, but unless it meets Energy Star's criteria, it is not very efficient at all.
Lowing our energy bills is something everyone has been trying to do for years. Now, more than ever. Choosing the right product that will assist in
doing so takes some research. Just keep in mind that you get what you pay for. Many window manufactures have less expensive products than say
Anderson or Simonton, but are they just as or more efficient as those competitors? I had a client who stated, "I can get that same window at Lowe's for half
the price..." Obviously, it was not the same window. It was a "Builder Grade" window that was not as efficient as what I was trying to sell him. He actually
ended up buying the products I carry, simply because he realized that the sole reason he was replacing his windows was to save on his energy bill.
Windows are Windows, but if they can't safe you money, they are just a hole in your wall.
Choosing Your Product Material
Most replacement windows, that are affordable, are made of either aluminum or vinyl. Each material has its own set of pros and cons. Aluminum can
come in a wider variety of colors, it is more of a stream lined look, it can be painted, and may be easier to operate. However, aluminum is conductive. The
temperature of the material whether its outside or inside, can transfer through the material to the other side. Many aluminum window companies have to add
specialty glass and thermal break spacers to cut down on the solar heat gain and offset the transfer of heat in order to meet Energy Star's criteria, even more
so with the new Tax Credit Guild lines starting this June.
Vinyl windows are very popular to most home owners. Unlike aluminum, it is not conductive. The temperature of the material outside may be 140
degrees in the summer, but the inside temperature may be the same as what it is in your home. The less heat radiating off the surface means less heat in
your home. The downside of vinyl is that it mainly comes in two or three colors (which is fine for most people), it cannot be painted, it takes more material to
keep the window rigid, and it may be a little stiffer to operate than aluminum windows. Every client that we have served has requested vinyl. It is the best
choice for your home.
Make sure that you know what you are getting. The window sample we bring to your home has the exact features of the windows we want to install in
your home. From the low e coating to the style of frame, what you see is what you get. It is the piece of mind we want you to have when choosing the right
window for your home.
Ask About The Installation
MAKE SURE you ask the company what steps are taken to remove your old windows, and most importantly, how they will install your new ones. Many
companies are performing "Frame Overs". This means that they only remove the glass from the existing window and leave the original frame behind. This
type of installation is suitable, but not the best. OUR company removes the ENTIRE window. This allows for a tighter fit of your new window. Our removal
process is clean, with no dust or damage to your home. In most cases, not even paint touch up is needed.
We have installed over 160 windows since the beginning of 2009. We pride ourselves in knowing that all of our clients have been 100% satisfied with the
services we have offered. We don't believe in waisting your time, nor do we tolerate inadequate work. Our business, whether it is windows or remodeling, is
to provide you with honesty, integrity, and the piece of mind in knowing that you hired a company with a strong background in customer satisfaction.
